THE BAGEL RIDE (SHORT & LONG)
Date & Time: Saturday @ 7:30AM Leave From: Einstein Brothers Bagels – Parmer Lane Durations: ~4 Hours, 17-20mph
The Bagel Ride was started around 1992 by Bill Reims and Ted Dunbar (Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure) and is open to all riders that love riding their bicycle. There are two groups, both of which roll out together, and then split at the store stop. The Short Ride is usually 50-60 miles, and the Long Ride is usually 75-85 miles. Both rides proceed with a 2x2 echelon and are social at times and race pace at others, but tend to stay at a steady tempo without lots of surges. This is one of the best group rides in town! Currently led by Matt, The Bagelmeister.
Date & Time: Sunday @ 8:15AM Leave From: Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop Durations: ~3 Hours, 16-18mph
This is one of the oldest group rides in Austin, meeting every Sunday morning for over 30 years! Riders should understand the etiquette of group riding, be able to change a tire and address minor mechanical issues. Wheels down at 8:15am. We encourage you to ride your bike down to the shop. If you do drive, please park in the street.
